Mad Men: More Music From the Series: Season 1–4

~ Release by Various Artists (see all versions of this release, 1 available)

Annotation

Notes from “jacksbrain”, the arranger:

As a fan of Mad Men, I've always enjoyed the music heard on the series since it's usually very well used to explain feelings, plots or simply introduces as in the 60s! (my favourite music period of the last century!). So during last weeks I've been working on a collection of music heard on the 4 seasons to date.

The compiled list, along with the 1st and 2nd official volumes (that only contain music from season 1 & 2, and don't have everything) is probably, the most precise and complete compilation to date, since it joins all the info I could found around the web (see references below), adds some music still unheard and correct some info. But it isn't 100% of the music yet, so in case you can help to complete it or you find any error (there are a lot, for sure!), I'd appreciate your comments, info and opinions! If you want more details about the music on the serie, you can check the spreadsheet I shared HERE, which lists all the music included on this compilation and also more music (not all) still unknown, and comments about it.

The compilation INCLUDES:

  • Songs heard during the serie.
  • Exctract from the serie when any character sings and, in some cases, the original songs that they sing.
  • Samples used for the intro theme and other versions
  • Info about the timing of every song in the series (mostly).
  • Some of these songs are not exactly the same version as heard on the series, since I couldn't find them. When this happens, it is explained in the comments of each track, and a similar version is included.

The compilation does NOT INCLUDE:

  • Music oficially published in the 1st and 2nd volumes.
  • Score music composed by David Carbonara for the series: here, here or here.
  • Music used in the promos.

Several sources were used (rips from the series, youtube rips, songs found around the web, Spotify rips...). To make the compilation, several list were consulted, main references are listed in a link below, but I'd like to thank specially to AMC, Koen Mostert, cabal and Tom for their previous lists.

Enjoy & say thanks!
