Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe

~ Release by The Alan Parsons Project (see all versions of this release, 39 available)

Annotation

This release is the remixed and remastered version from the original 1976 vinyl release. On the rear of the jewel case, at the bottom left-hand corner, the following information appears (i.e., 4 lines):

"P&C 1976 PolyGram Records, Inc. All rights reserved."
"Unauthorized copying of this recording strictly prohibited."
"Manufactured and distributed by PolyGram Group Canada Inc.,"
"1345 Denison Street, Markham, Ontario L3R 5V2 - Made in Canada"

On the bottom, right-hand corner at the rear of the jewel case, the following information appears:

1. the "mercury" logo,
2. a caption beneath the logo that reads "a PolyGram company".

On the last page of the booklet at the front of the jewel case, the second paragraph reads as follows:

"The original multitrack masters were transferred from a Soundcraft 'Saturn' analog machine to a Sony 3324 DASH format 24 track recorder.
The Album was partially re-recorded and remixed at 'The Grange' via an Amek Angela console to a Sony 1630 system digital stereo master - May and
June 1987."

This indicates that the re-recording, remixing, and remastering of this release occurred in 1987. However, according to the musicbrainz label database, PolyGram Group Canada Inc. did not exist prior to 1991. Therefore, the release of this version could not have taken place prior to 1991. Since the release date does not appear within any of the documentation, I had to leave the release date blank.
