An ethereal winter spacemusic journey

For this program we've chosen spacemusic which evokes the feelings and images of the winter season. On this journey we'll experience both the intensity and the deep, quiet spaciousness of winter.

We'll begin with WENDY CARLOS' portrait of winter from SONIC SEASONINGS. Then a trip through the Himalayas to the rarified atmosphere of the summit, with music by VANGELIS. We'll move beyond the mountains into space, with an international variety of pieces for electronics, bells and chorus by IASOS, GEOFF CHANDLER, ESA KOTALAINEN, TIBETAN BELLS, MORTON FELDMAN, and BRIAN ENO.
