Badlands (Spain, version 1)

There are 3 versions of the Spain pressing of “Badlands / Streets of Fire”.

Version 1:
- Issued in 1978
- No “(SG)” on sleeve
- Sunburst labels
- “S.G.A.E.” bordered on labels

Version 2:
- Issued in 1984
- “(SG)” on sleeve
- Sunburst labels
- “S.G.A.E.” not bordered on labels

Version 3:
- Issued in 1985
- “(SG)” on sleeve
- Red labels

In Spain, sunburst labels were used until 1984, red labels were used starting from 1985. Sunburst labels with “S.G.A.E.” bordered on labels were used until 1981, sunburst labels with “S.G.A.E.” not bordered on labels were used between 1982 and 1984. Sunburst labels with small Columbia logo were used until 1981, sunburst labels with large Columbia logo were used between 1982 and 1984. Labels (sunburst and red) with black rectangle on the labels’ 6 o’clock position were used between 1984 and 1988.

This copy’s runout groove etchings:

Side 1 (stamped): TML-S
Side 1 (hand-etched): 6838-A ZSS-164424-1D
Side 2 (stamped): TML-S
Side 2 (hand-etched): 6838-B ZSS-164425-1D

“TML‐S” on the runout groove indicates that the lacquer was cut at The Mastering Lab in Los Angeles, CA and that the slave (“S”) lathe was used.
