You Run Your Mouth, I’ll Run My Business (studio, 1940-04-11: Victor matrix 048779-1, master take)
~ Recording by Fats Waller and His Rhythm
Annotation
Master take 1 is shorter than the alternate, and can be distinguished by Waller's vocal improvisations. In this version, he begins the second verse "You run your mouth and I'll get my mind together and I'll run my business, brother".
Take numbers are reversed in some discographies; this numbering is confirmed by Waller discographer Stephen Taylor.
